As a future educator, it is critical that I abide by a set code of ethics. From this code I will make professional decisions that will best benefit my students, their parents, and the community. As a teacher, I will:
- Ensure student safety first and foremost.
- Promote and model the characteristics of responsibility, honesty, hard work, and a passion for learning.
- Teach content in a meaningful, relevant, and engaging way.
- Keep information confidential, unless the information shared is being used for the best interest of the student or if the information is required by law to be reported.
- Respect the roles of parents/guardians and involve them as much as possible in the education process.
- Teach without bias, and acknowledge and respect diversity in my classroom, school, and community.
- Follow and fulfill my contract and all district policies, and conduct myself as a role model within the community.
